Life at the moment

At the moment i am finding life a little difficult. I cant seem to get out of this dull valley that i have found myself in. I cant pin point exactly why i feel this way or what emotion it is that i am mainly feeling but i know that whatever it is is not good. I'm feeling sad, I'm feeling angry, I'm feeling let down with where i am in my life. I might take some time tonight and write in my journal - get some of these thoughts and feelings onto paper.

I was hoping to do a happy post today with lots of inspiration but i think i will leave that for tomorrow now.

Here is July's roundup. Thanks Katies for a great idea!

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
This month i have read my normal Joyce Meyers Magazine. I have also started A Thousand Splendid Suns and Look Great Feel Great.

What movies and/or TV shows did I watch this month?
Tuesday nights is NCIS on FX TV and Thursday nights is Greys Anatomy on Living TV. Other than that i don't watch a lot of TV.
Living with Stu of course we had to go and watch Harry Potter the first night it was out. We also rented Ghost Rider which was alright but not entirely my sort of film.
This past weekend we also went to watch Simpsons. A very "feel good" movie.

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
I had a lovely appointment*she says with it dripping with sarcasm* with a lady nurse for lady things. So glad that is over for another 3 years!
Sadly, Bob passed away on Sunday 29th - we will miss him so very much.

What special or unusual purchases did I make?
This month we bought Stuart an xbox360 and too many games to count.
I bought myself some Armani Code perfume and also got a great bargain off of eBay for some sock yarn and sock knitting needles

What were my accomplishments this month?
*Stu passed his HGV Theory test first time....way to go honey!
I wrote my first exam for my course - still waiting for the results but just writing it feels like an accomplishment all on its own.

Well, that's my July all wrapped up.

Thanks for allowing me to share this with you and hopefully tomorrow i will be feeling a little more on top of things.

Rounding up June

Here is June's roundup. I know, i know - I am a few days late but all that matters is that it gets documented right? Thanks Katies for a great idea!

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?

I actually haven't done a lot of reading this month. Not compared to how much i normally read. I bought myself two new Interweave Knits magazines and had a good read through both of them. I also read my monthly Joyce Meyer's magazine as well as my Scrapbooking Magazine. I also received my Creating Keepsakes magazine but that is currently sitting unopened on our lounge table. I did not read any books this month!

What movies and/or TV shows did I watch this month?

I am not much of a TV person to be honest - and especially so this month. I did, of course, not miss one single episode of Greys. I love that show and that is probably the only show that i set the auto viewer on for. Movies wise we rented the old Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and we did go and watch Oceans 13 at the cinema. This was not a very good film to be honest but they cant all be fantastic.

What special days did I celebrate and how?

We didn't really have any birthdays but we did have Fathers Day on the 17th. We had my mom and dad round for a special lunch and had a great day.

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?

My weight is still a concern for me but i am doing my best to get on top of it. I am eating a healthy range of food and looking after myself.
Stuart went for a Medical a few weeks ago and he passed with flying colors so that is good. My favourite aunt, aunt Pam has been diagnosed with cancer. She is keeping strong and starting Chemo but she has a long road ahead of her. Please keep her in your prayers.

What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?

This month was very quite on that front. I spent a lot of time with my mom and dad which is always nice. We had them round for a meal a few times.

What special or unusual purchases did I make?

This month we bought Stu an XBox 360 after much fussing. I still have not bought any scrapbooking stash and i am very pleased with myself about that.
We also decided to buy a new washing machine as we have never had a brand new one and the one that we currently had was making so much noise we were sure that it was waiting for clearance for it to take off.
We also got a loan from Natwest which we have used to pay for Stu to do his HGV truck license. He has been wanting to do this for years and he has now started the ball rolling.

What were this month's disappointments?

Stuarts motorbike is still not fixed and it might be a long time before it is - if ever!
I was hoping to have some money to spend on myself. To buy some fabric and some books and I was really hoping to book a place at a scrapbook retreat but none of this seemed to happen. Oh well, there is always next month i guess.

What were my accomplishments this month?

We did finally get my visa through as well as all the paperwork that my brother needed.
I have started studying with the help of my company. I am studying for the AAT and had my first lot of books arrive. Very scary and a lot more work than what i thought it was first going to be but very proud of myself for jumping in and making such a good start with it.
We have also had a lot of baby news: Russell and his girlfriend are expecting and then his brother, Brad and Caz are expecting four days after Rus's. So very happy for the both of them.

Well that's my June all wrapped up.

Thanks for allowing me to share this with you

Rounding up May

This idea was from Alis newsletter and Katies blog This is going to be my first roundup
April 2007:

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I did a lot of reading this month. Magazine wise i have read Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Inspirations, Scrapbook Magazine, Joyce Meyers monthly magazine and Simply Knitting. This month i have read two books. 1. You are not what you weigh by Lisa Bevera and 2. Inside my Heart by Robyn McGraw. These are two excellent books, especially the second one.

What movies and/or TV shows did I watch this month?
*This month i also seemed to have watched a lot more Movies than what i normally do. We went to the Cinema and watched Next with Nicholas Cage and Pirates of the Caribbean 3, we then rented The Pursuit of Happiness with Will Smith and also bought Hitch with Will Smith. Fantastic Movies.
*This month also saw the start of Season 3 of Greys Anatomy. 10pm Thursday evenings - This is what gets me through the week sometimes.

What special days did I celebrate and how?
This month Stuart turned 30! What an exciting milestone for him. We went out for dinner with all the family. We also had two fantastic bank holidays this month.

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
*I have been worried about Stu's health this month. I have been trying to get him in to see his doctor about his Depression but no luck so far.
*I am also trying to be a lot more healthier. My ears have been giving me trouble again and i am hoping to go and see the doctor just to get a good check up.

What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
*I got to spend a lot of time this month with my mom and dad. We had them round for a meal several times over the past month - couldn't be happier about this.
*Saturday the 26Th we spent the day at Warwick Castle. The weather held out fantastically for us and we had a great time. We took loads of photos. It is always somewhere that we have wanted to go but never found the time to do it - now we have.

What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
Not much cooking being done this which was very naughty of me but June will be a healthier month

What special or unusual purchases did I make?
*For Stuarts 30Th i bought him a Swiss Army Watch and had it engraved with our Song.
*I also have finally gone and had my hair highlighted and cut. This has been much needed. I have been putting it off for ages now. It did end up costing me £75 but never you mind.
*I bought a new pair of shoes for work and a new pair of trainers. I haven't bought shoes in months.

What were this month's disappointments?
*We had no end of problems with our vehicles this month. My car needed to have an entire new "thing" on the front drivers side of the car (don't ask me what it is but i know it was a big job and took all day to do...lol). Then we also had problems with Stuarts bike. First his cable snapped and then we found a major problem with his back wheel.
*Yet another month has gone by were we have had no sign of my paperwork for my visa. 7 months later and i am no closer to getting this sorted out.
*Stuart has quit his job even though he has no other yet.
*I managed to break my tooth while we were at Warwick Castle.
*Our relationship has hit an all time low at the moment. Not sure where things are going from here - only time will tell.
* I didn't manage to get as much scrapping done as i would have liked to. Things have been very busy which has not left a lot of time for creating.

What were my accomplishments this month?
*I have been really good with going to the gym this month and trying new classes. This has really boosted my confidence.
*I have got permission to study further through my company. Hopefully this will start in June so am really excited that i took the plunge and asked for them to help me pay for it.
*I did manage to do some creating this month which is an accomplishment considering the month i have had.

This is a great way to document what has gone on for this month as so often i find that there are things that i forget. Thanks Ali and Katie for this fantastic idea.

Looking forward to June as i have some exciting things coming my way.
