Friday, at long last

An update on how I am today.
Work: So at this moment in time work officially sucks! After six and a half months temping at this company they have finally offered me a permanent position which has been back dated to the 02.01.2007. The salary is great, the most i have ever earned out here in the UK, but as always there is a catch. The new woman, who has actually been here now since November, is a total cow! I could think of other things to call her but I'm being nice today. Anyways, no one gets along with her in the office but she is making my work life just horrible. Its a long story as these things normally are but today i am going to try to not let her get to me.
Weight: Well, i went to my first weight in at weightwatchers on Wednesday night and boy was i shocked at what the scales said...lol. Anyway, i have so far had a total of 30+ hours of sticking 100% to the core plan. I know, i know.....30 hours is not an awfully long time but it is the start, so Yahoo to me. *currently patting myself on the back*
Mood: My mood today is OK. I am trying to be more positive and not let things get me down. Money is tight yet again this week but I'm keeping my chin up and a smile on my face.
Scrapping: Last night i managed to have about an hour and a half to myself to get some scrapping done. I had hoped to get more than just one page done but i guess it just wasn't meant to be. I know I'm a little late but i finally got around to scraping my word of the year. I used my Cherry Arts Kit that i got back in November or December and i really enjoyed doing this layout. Its not exactly what i had in mind so i might see about adding some more things to it but for now this is how it is finished.

The quote says "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." Rhonda sent me this quote in an email and i hope that she doesn't mind that i have used it on my layout. There is so much more that i feel i could say about this but for now, this is how i have left it. One good quote to keep you thinking.

Have a great weekend everyone - i know i will be doing some cleaning and relaxing!

A little bit of cooking.

Last night i got home after work and i was really having trouble deciding what to make for dinner. I knew that i felt like a home cooked meal and i knew that i needed something that was different. So out came my recipe books and the hunt began. After ten minutes of searching i decided i would attempt Chili Con Carne. I have never eaten it before let alone cook it, but i am very please to say that it came out deliciously. There was enough of it for two meals so half has been stuck away in the freezer for one night next week!

It seems like the cooking and baking bug really hit me yesterday. After dinner was done i decided that i would now have to make some Chocolate Chip cookies. As i am joining weightwatchers on Wednesday night i decided i had better only do half a batch. So eight large chocolate chip cookies later i was watching "What woman want" happily munching away on one of the cookies. They too turned out delicious! Yay, for me.
Sunday night Stuart decided that it was time for a change. He was playing with the idea to either shave off all his hair and leave his beard, or just shave off his beard or just shave it all. Well, were we in stitches! He started off with just the side and middle of his beard leaving the funny bits down either side of his mouth. Once we had stopped laughing and i had taken a few photos he then went on to shave everything off! Yup - he is now a skinhead. Thank goodness it grows back quickly because boy does he look weird....lol

These are some of the photos that i took while we were goofing around and these two are my favourite. What do ya think?

Well, i hope that everyone has a great tuesday. God Bless and see you back here tomorrow!

My word for the year

If you haven't already signed up for Alis newsletter then i suggest that you do. I love seeing it there in my inbox and i love the inspiration that she gives me through them. This weeks newsletter, she suggested that we choice a word that sums up what we want for ourselves for this coming year. It can be anything you like.....what ever has meaning to you!

I thought about this for a while and two words came to mind. Choices and Free. Both of these words work well together and also relate to each other but i had to pick one.

So my word for 2007 is going to be Choices.

This year i am reminding myself that no matter what, everything in my life is a choice. What i am going to eat is a choice, what mood i am going to be in is a choice, what i am going to spend my time doing is a choice. Even when those situations arise through the year that leaves me feeling like there is nothing that i can do and even if at the end of it all i do nothing - that is a choice!

Ok, so i guess you want to know what i won right? Well this morning the post man popped through a medium sized box that rattled. I thought, hmmm, a little strange , i havent ordered anything.....at least that i can remember ordering, lol.
